Crunchie is a 12hh, chestnut aged gelding. He is an experienced school-master suitable to teach the beginner child the ropes both from the ground and in the saddle. He is easy to do in all aspects:- load, lunge, tack-up, bath, catch,farrier and is completely comfortable in traffic, busy atmospheres, dogs etc.
This chap will stand patiently while a child grooms him and gets to grips with tacking-up. He is quiet to wash all over and picks up his feet no problem.
Crunchie is happy to work in a group or simply by himself. He is best as a happy hacker as he adores riding out and is totally unflappable in any traffic. He is well used to a lesson environment too and will pop small fences.
Crunchie can be used as a lead-rein pony for the youngest of riders and also rides well enough off the lead to allow the child advance when they are ready to do so. He leads well from another horse and can be placed in front, in the middle or out the back of a group.
Being an older pony we would prefer a family environment where he was not needed for strenuous competition work. He has lots to offer the learner rider and will give any young rider confidence in the early days.
Crunchie is recently wormed and wears two front shoes. He has no veterinary issues or vices. He will require nothing more than routine vaccinations, worming and exercise.
